Message of solidarity to public sector workers in South Africa from Mauritius

The State and Other Employees Federation of Mauritius is following closely the strike action among public officers taking place in South Africa since 6th March 2023.
We would like to join the leadership of NEHAWU to condemn the authorities of South Africa for their negative attitude towards the union. We also vehemently reject all attempts to blackmail public officers for the mismagement of the elite.
We demand the immediate filling of the 165000 posts in the Public Service vacant specially in the health care system. We condemn all the attacks on the right of strike as well as the intimidating statements against the union and demand the implementation of clause 3.3 of the PSCBC Resolution 1 of 2018.
We stand in solidarity towards your members and hope that the authorities come to reason as soon as possible.
